Years ago, on a trip to New York, we were amazed by the huge queues outside the city's delis. Inside, sandwiches were crafted out of mounds of fresh ingredients, exactly to the customer's orders.

We'd always thought there must be more to sandwiches than mayonnaise and the same tired old mixtures in plastic cartons, and those New York queues proved it.

So we set about recreating a taste of the Big Apple here in London, giving it a few twists of Englishness. benugo was born.

Over a decade later, we're still going strong. Ten cafés in some of London's most interesting areas, holding tight to those traditional values, and serving customers just what they're looking for.

Our approach is simple... to produce great-tasting food at honest prices using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. As ever, if there's anything you think we could do better, we'd love to hear from you.
